Build-up
_These photographs above have an impact on what my final piece could look like as I am focusing on architecture. These photographs show similarities of what I want to do because these photographs are taken from different angles which show different aspects of a particular photograph. For example, there are close ups and photographs that have been taken from a far distance. This idea can be expanded into different techniques as I could do something on Photoshop to make a photograph look more interesting.
This photographs above also fit in with my idea as it shows architecture but with Photoshop manipulation. For example, certain photographs have been made to look black and white and then some photographs have been balanced out so everything in same photograph are the same shades and colours. These photographs have been executed well because of the patterns shown in the photographs which would make someone who knows nothing about photography, more interested in the photograph.
Tilt-Shift Photography
Richard Silver
Richard Silver believes that we are all small people so he shows that in his photographs. Others would say this type of Photoshop manipulation can look like a toy by going through the process of Photoshop. This is also true but the first thing you notice about these types of photographs is how small a subject is made out to be. This is a technique I would like to carry out and show final pieces of. I will progress through this project by showing how my 'tilt-shift photography' started and then show the processes I went through and give my best photographs and display them as my final pieces.

First Attempt
This photograph had been taken in San Francisco. I had taken a series of photographs but this photograph came out how I wanted it to so I was able to give the photograph the tilt-shift affect.
|
The process I went through on Photoshop included four steps. The first step is choosing the 'Gradient' tool then dragging the mouse on the computer, down to get a red affect going along the photograph. You then have to click another tool to get the selected areas which is the top part of the photograph and the bottom part. Then you go onto the filter effects and select the 'Lens Blur' tool to get the blurred effect on the photograph. Once this is done you increase the saturation to give the photograph a miniature effect.
|
This photograph was one of the best out of the photo shoot I had taken as there was an open space for me to create the tilt shift affect on Photoshop. This was not the best photograph as I am still testing if the tilt shift will look good for a final piece.

Final Photo Shoot
This is the photo shoot I done to get my final pieces. I tried different locations from different heights and angles to achieve the best possible photographs.
Final Piece One
The Photoshop process for all these images were similar. The only different feature I had to adjust is the brightness and contrast of the photograph which is shown in the photograph above. In this photograph, I made the contrast very high as I wanted the colours in the photographs to stand out more. I had kept the brightness the same as a lot of natural lighting filled my location already.
|
Final Piece Two
The Photoshop process for all these images were similar. The only different feature I had to adjust is the brightness and contrast of the photograph which is shown in the photograph above. Again, in this photograph, I made the contrast as high as possible as I wanted the colours and people in the photograph, to stand out as much as possible. I didn't touch the brightness of the photograph as there was enough natural light in the photograph already.
|
Final Piece Three
The Photoshop process for all these images were similar. The only different feature I had to adjust is the brightness and contrast of the photograph which is shown in the photograph above. I had made no adjustments to the brightness of this photograph as there was enough natural light in the photograph already. I had made the contrast of the photograph as high as possible because I want colours to be as vibrant as possible.
|
Final Piece Four
The Photoshop process for all these images were similar. The only different feature I had to adjust is the brightness and contrast of the photograph which is shown in the photograph above. In this photograph, I had to make the contrast high as lights in the photograph are being shown so I wanted them to stand out. The brightness stayed the same as it was bright in the photograph already. If I had put the brightness lower or higher, it would take out the colour of this photograph.
|
Final Piece Five
The Photoshop process for all these images were similar. The only different feature I had to adjust is the brightness and contrast of the photograph which is shown in the photograph above. This photograph was already quite bright from having natural lights so I did not adjust the brightness but i just had the contrast higher which also gave the photograph a tint.
